We have a dog, Prissy that we've had since she was 6 weeks old, and now is 7 years old. About a month ago she was struck by a vehicle that didn't stop or slow down. At that time the vet thought it was only some torn ligaments in her leg, and it would heal in a few weeks with laser treatments. After a month of just lying around, and still not using her leg we talked to the vet. They took x-rays to look for possible fractures. We were told she has a fracture where the bone goes into the socket that would require surgery to repair. Without the surgery she would never be able to use her leg, and she would be in constant pain. With surgery she would get 85-95 percent use of her leg back. She would be able to run, and play like before including playing with her Frisbee which she loves. The surgery will cost around $1,000, and unknown the cost of her rehab to get her back to using her leg. The charges for treatment and x-rays so far have been in excess of $500. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
